And here, the romance works. Sam is quite clear at the beginning that casual sex is not something she does, but there was something about Max that drew her to him. The strain put on the no-strings relationship by the kidnapping of Max’s stepbrother and Sam’s revelation that she’s an agent is evident and well-done. The third book in Cynthia Eden’s Deadly series finally hits every mark perfectly.
