review: beneath a starlet sky by amanda goldberg and ruthanna khalighi hopper

Beneath a Starlet Sky finds Lola (from Celebutantes) attempting to balance her life on two coasts. Finally over her thing for actors, Lola's dating a doctor in California while serving as CEO of Julian Tennant Inc., an up and coming designer in New York. It's stressful, but manageable...until everything starts going wrong at work and her boyfriend starts acting on the show he was serving as medical consultant for. At times Beneath a Starlet Sky reads like a gossip rag with potential cover models Om and Nano breaking into a Twitter fight and thus sabotaging their chances (and Lola's) of the magazine cover. It's amusing, but at times the name-dropping seems more important than the actual plot, which gets a bit ridiculous itself at times with one major disaster after another befalling Lola.
3/5

  1. This is one of my new favorite books! In fact, you should check out this fun profile on the authors, Amanda Goldberg and Ruthanna Khalighi Hopper, on Theodora & Callum's Creative Factory-- Like their books, it's so much fun to read! http://bit.ly/nyo2L7
